In the 13th annual Lightwave Innovation Reviews, Marvell received awards for two of its optical connectivity products: the active copper cable (ACC) linear equalizers and 1.6T silicon photonics light engine. Both products received a 4.0 outstanding honoree status on the 5.0 scale, which is defined as an excellent product with technical features and performance that provide clear, substantial benefits.
An esteemed panel of independent judges evaluated optical communications and broadband designs to showcase the most innovative products, technologies, and programs that have a significant impact on the semiconductor industry.
1.6T Silicon Photonics Light Engine
The Marvell® 1.6T silicon photonics light engine (pictured at the top) is purpose-built for AI-scale up. It provides hyperscale operators with a flexible, future-ready optical platform that will also coexist naturally with the anticipated co-packed optics (CPO) architectures. It directly solves connectivity bottlenecks by delivering eight lanes of 200G PAM4 optical connectivity in a single package and offering ultra-low power consumption.
“The high degree of device and multi-channel integration enabled in Marvell's 1.6T Silicon Photonics Light Engine will enable significant simplification for 1.6T LPO modules,” the judges remarked, “while delivering important reductions in power/bit.”
Active Copper Cable Linear Equalizers

ACCs extend the reach of copper cables while maintaining ultra-low latency and power efficiency. These analog linear equalizers deliver a near-passive experience with extended signal reach, making the product an accessible gateway into adopting 1.6T into existing AI data center architectures.
“Engineers are wringing every bit of capability out of copper media in the data center,” the judges said, “and Marvell's ACC Linear Equalizers are at the forefront of this effort.”
Enabling AI through Award-winning Technology
Both of these recent products—which are part of the company’s industry-leading connectivity portfolio—demonstrate how Marvell is a foundational partner in the AI ecosystem. These innovations lower power consumption and TCO while increasing time-to-market for hyperscalers.
