Marvell’s ARMADA Mobile PXA1801 completes AT&T interoperability testing for HSPA and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) data

The high performance ARMADA Mobile PXA1801 World Modem supports up to Category 4 data rates of 150 Megabits-per-second

Santa Clara, California (September 30, 2013) – Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) today announced that its ARMADA® Mobile PXA1801 completed interoperability testing with AT&T's 4G LTE and HSPA data networks. The high performance ARMADA Mobile PXA1801 World Modem can support up to Category 4 data rates of 150 Megabits-per-second.

"I am extremely pleased that our innovative ARMADA Mobile PXA1801 has been validated for interoperability with AT&T, one of America’s top carriers, for 4G LTE and HSPA data communication. This is a very significant milestone for Marvell and our global leadership in delivery of the ARMADA Mobile 4G LTE solution for China Mobile, and now for AT&T", said Weili Dai, President and Co-founder of Marvell. "Our mission is to drive affordable, high-performance and high-quality 4G LTE solutions for global manufacturers and end users. With the ARMADA Mobile PXA1801, our customers are assured that their new mobile devices featuring Marvell's processors will meet AT&T's requirements for interoperability on its network. This highlights our company's continued commitment to making the world a better place through affordable and high-performance solutions to better people's lives."

With the unified ARMADA Mobile platforms, Marvell leads the development of LTE technology with the introduction of the industry's first mass market quad-core 5-mode Category 4 LTE single-chip solution supporting LTE TDD and FDD, High Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+), Time Division High Speed Packet Access Plus (TD-HSPA+) and Enhanced Data for GSM Environment (EDGE). In partnership with China Mobile and ZTE, Marvell also completed the world's first end-to-end voice-over TD-LTE (VoTD-LTE) call in June. The AT&T testing is the latest milestone in Marvell's leadership in worldwide deployment of the LTE technology. The ARMADA Mobile PXA1801 can support up to Category 4 data rates, which can achieve up to 150 megabits-per-second (Mbps) downlink throughput, and features a low-power (LP) technology. The modem's flexible and efficient architecture allows fast implementation on the latest LTE, Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WB-CDMA), and it is backward compatible with previous generations of WB-CDMA and Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE).
