Santa Clara, California (May 13, 2008) – a href="http://www.marvell.com" target="_self">Marvell (NASDAQ MRVL) announced today that Dr. Nikhil Balram, vice president and general manager of Marvell's Digital Entertainment Business Unit, will be educating attendees at IDTV 2008, May 14 in Taipei, Taiwan, and at the Society for Information Display's (SID) Display Week 2008 conference, May 18-23, in Los Angeles, California.
At IDTV, Dr. Balram will give a keynote titled, "The Muddy Crystal Ball – a vision of the TV set in 2010 and beyond," which will explore the endless stream of innovation that continues to change the consumer electronics industry. Dr. Balram also will be discussing the dramatic changes of the consumer electronics industry, from the rapid commoditization of the DVD player, to the coming of 1080p, 120Hz, wide-color-gamut, dimming backlight, and network connectivity.
At SID's International Symposium, Dr. Balram will present the "Fundamentals of Video for the 21st Century" on May 19th at 3 p.m at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This informative session will explore how new Digital TVs will affect the way consumers watch TV. Dr. Balram's tutorial will teach the fundamentals and advances in video as relevant in the 21st Century, and will cover basic and advanced video processing functions used in various types of digital flat-panel TVs.
