Santa Clara, California (April 4, 2006) – arvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications and consumer silicon solutions, today announces that Weili Dai has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). Ms. Dai has served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Marvell’s Communication and Consumer Business Group for the last five years. As COO, Ms. Dai expands her role to manage all of Marvell’s global operations, and will continue to manage and lead the company’s Communications and Consumer Business Group.
Weili Dai is one of Marvell’s co-founders and has served as Vice President, Corporate Secretary and a Director of Marvell Technology Group Ltd. since the company was established in 1995. Since 1999, Ms. Dai has served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Communications Business Group and has been responsible for managing all of the Company’s communications product lines. Ms. Dai has also served as Executive Vice President and a Director of Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. since its inception.
Prior to founding Marvell, Ms. Dai was involved in software development and project management at Canon Research Center America, Inc. Ms. Dai holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
