Marvell and IP Infusion Accelerate Solutions for Software-Defined Networks

New offerings will speed the innovation and evolution of cloud services and infrastructure applications

Santa Clara, California and Las Vegas, Nevada (May 8, 2012) – Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) today announced a joint product offering with IP Infusion, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced Ethernet and IP services. The joint Marvell/IP Infusion solutions enable a new generation of software-defined networks (SDNs) designed to accelerate the innovation and evolution of private/public cloud and infrastructure applications.

The exponential growth of mobile devices, cloud-centric applications and virtualization demands a dynamic compute, networking and storage capability. Conventional hierarchical network architectures need to adapt to changing traffic patterns and provide elastic scaling of resources, while maintaining consistent policy enforcement and ease of manageability. Service and network providers must continue to innovate to accommodate a surge of mobile users and the emergence of all-encompassing cloud services via new business models that are driving significant revenue. SDNs are gaining popularity by way of systems and networks that can be built, deployed and operated to address these new challenges.

At this year’s Interop, Marvell and IP Infusion will demonstrate a number of exciting new capabilities for the next generation of SDN services, including:
– Marvell's Prestera® and Xelerated® programmable packet processor,
– Marvell’s ARMADA® XP multi-core service processors, and
– IP Infusion’s ZebOS and Advanced Hardware Integration Software (AHIS).

“We are thrilled to be working with IP Infusion. Marvell is creating an ecosystem designed to accelerate product development cycles and maximize revenue for our ODM/OEM partners and their end customers,” said Paul Valentine, vice president of marketing for the Cloud Services and Infrastructure (CSI) Business Unit of Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. “Marvell’s ARMADA XP, Prestera and Xelerated products are well suited for delivering on the compelling promise of SDNs.”

By joining forces, Marvell and IP Infusion will dramatically accelerate offerings for:
– Private/public cloud networks,
– Carrier Ethernet and mobile backhaul infrastructure, and
– Applications and services on Marvell ARMADA XP ARM-based service processors.

This new class of programmable devices by Marvell will enable service delivery solutions for data center and network infrastructure. When coupled with the Marvell devices, IP Infusion's ZebOS Network Platform offers a powerful and synergistic solution, providing a new generation of products designed to enable cloud-based services. The Prestera CX/DX as well as the Xelerated family of packet processors enables operators to deliver the high-performance, feature-rich and cost-effective cloud connectivity their users demand.

“Together with Marvell, we are opening the door to a whole new era of services enabled by our SDN architecture, leveraging our data and control plane abstraction, coupled with programmatic control of the infrastructure, ” said Sandy Orlando, vice president of marketing at IP Infusion. “IP Infusion has built the ZebOS software platform upon a modular and secure architecture to power mission-critical applications, while enabling a high degree of scalability and services agility to accelerate the transition to SDNs.”

At Interop 2012 on May 8-10 in Las Vegas, Marvell and IP Infusion will demonstrate exciting capabilities for the next generation of SDNs leveraging Marvell Prestera/Xelerated/ARMADA XP devices with IP Infusion’s ZebOS. Demonstrations are by appointment only.
