Santa Clara, California (February 7, 2007) – Marvell, (NASDAQ: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, and its partner ASUS, today announced the shipment of the first Marvell-based ASUS 3G smartphones. Featuring the Marvell PXA901 3G communications processor and the PXA272 applications processor, the ASUS Halley platform-based devices are currently shipping in the European market under the Vodafone brand name. These devices are the first Marvell-based 3G smartphones to utilize the Microsoft® Windows™ Mobile operating system. The Vodafone 1210 is soon to ship in Europe

Marvell and ASUS worked closely together on the development of the Halley platform. The PXA901 communications processor supports GSM/GPRS and WCDMA communications; the PXA272 applications processor runs applications and services, and the operating system. The two companies have rigorously tested the platform in many countries with different network implementations.
